Originally from Sunderland, Jonny brings a blend of clinical expertise and professional sports experience to Beyond Health. Jonny is passionate about sports, particularly tennis, where he competed professionally around the world achieving a world ranking in singles and doubles. Jonny translates his experiences from tennis with injuries and rehabilitation to the field of sports medicine.
Jonny studied at Durham University, earning a BA in Sport Science and an MA in Education, before completing his Masters in Physiotherapy at Brunel University in London. As a physiotherapist, Jonny works with elite athletes across various settings. His work for the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) focuses on the treatment and rehabilitation of elite-level tennis players, based at the National Tennis Centre. Jonny also works privately with top British tennis professionals, combining physiotherapy and coaching to support athletes in reaching their peak performance.
Jonny’s approach to physiotherapy is holistic, drawing from his extensive knowledge of sports biomechanics and injury prevention. Jonny finds special interest in the treatment and rehabilitation of upper limb injuries and other musculoskeletal conditions common in racquet sports. His treatment methods combine hands-on techniques with tailored exercise programs, ensuring optimal recovery and performance for his patients. He employs a client-centred, evidence-based approach, tailoring treatment plans to meet the needs of each client. Beyond his clinical work, Jonny remains actively involved in the tennis community as a player and coach. He continues to represent Roehampton Club at a national level, competes for a German club league team in the summer, and coaches privately in London maintaining his connection to the sport that shaped his career.
